Effective date: October 23, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains what information GasCalculator.org (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit https://gascalculator.org, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. By using this website you agree to this policy.
1. The Calculators Do Not Collect Your Data
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your own browser. The numbers you enter — distances, fuel prices, vehicle figures — are never sent to, processed by, or stored on our servers. There are no user accounts on this site and no sign-up of any kind.
2. Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting server automatically records standard technical logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you viewed and the time of your visit. These logs are used to keep the site secure, diagnose problems and understand aggregate usage. They are not used to identify you personally and are retained only for a limited period.
3. Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies: (a) essential cookies set by WordPress that are required for the site to function and for administrator security; and (b) if analytics or advertising services are enabled, cookies from those providers as described in section 4. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the calculators will continue to work.
4. Analytics and Advertising
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and understand which tools are useful. If we display advertising in the future, ad partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Where required by law, we will request your consent before non-essential cookies are set. We do not sell personal information.
5. Email You Send Us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use them only to reply and to handle your request, and we do not add you to any marketing list.
6. Third-Party Links
Our pages link to external websites (for example public data sources such as EIA.gov and FuelEconomy.gov). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies before providing them any information.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you — primarily server logs and any email you have sent us. To exercise any right, email admin@gascalculator.org and we will respond within the time required by law.
8. Children
This site is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
10. Contact
